There is a flourish of great retro themed Kickstarters sprouting up weekly at the moment – one currently coming close to the end of its campaign is SID Waves – A Vinyl Tribute to the Commodore 64 SID Chip.
The author of the successful 8-BIT KIDS, Koen de Brabander, is a musician as well as a writer and has used his talent to pay tribute ‘to the amazing sound of the vintage 1980s synths and the even more amazing C64 SID synth chip’. What you will get here is the ultimate 1980s SIDpop album that every Commodore 64 and retro gaming person will enjoy.
The album will come in a variety of formats including vinyl, tape and CD. Trevor Storey has created the cover below specifically for the project.
The tape version mock up can be seen below – do any of us still have cassette players?
The is the retro music desk in Koen’s house where the musical magic will take place. Looks a little like my bedroom of the early 80s!
To pledge on this campaign, which has already hit its modest target, pop over to Kickstarter and donate some money. There are loads of stretch goals to hit – and you can help with that.
