My Vita has been gathering dust for some time now – not the most successful little handheld console in the world, but if you are retro gamer now there is a reason to take it off the shelf and give it a new lease of life.

A new hack by HENkaku will allow you to download a Megadrive/Genesis, Snes and GBA emulator onto the device as well as Vita Doom. And it’s a simple hack to apply too – just go to the HENkaku website and click an install button – once complete there will be bubbles on the home screen for the emulators and Doom.

Just check out the video below on what to do – be careful though, this is your nice shiny Sony console you are playing with!

Not quite as simple as ‘just download it and there will be a bubble for the emulators’. You do need a basic knowledge of FTP file transfer, a PC, a copy of Filezilla on said PC, the emulator files and the ROMS you want to run. Having said all that there are some good tutorials on You Tube for newbies, and it does work like a dream.
