Bum Fun Software has just announced that they are releasing three new titles for the ZX Spectrum. As always there are some extra special limited editions so be quick if anything takes your fancy. Even more exciting is the news that owner George Cropper has managed to negotiate a new licensing partnership with Epyx games to re-publish their old titles.
Speaking to Retro-Now about the deal, George said “I spoke with the license holders of the Epyx back catalogue and we’ve struck a deal to re-release the top titles that they put out back in the 80’s. I’m also in talks with other companies at the moment to re-release some of their classics, too, but people will have to wait to find out what and when. As for the ‘where’, they’ll all be released on Bum Fun of course!” Exciting stuff indeed!
So without further ado, let’s get into the releases…
The first fruit of the Epyx deal is the classic that is Impossible Mission. This needs no introduction as one of the grand espionage platform games of the 80’s. Stay awhile…. Staaaaaaay FOREVER!
Next, there is “Saving Kong” Head back to the golden era of cinema as you assist Kong and his new bride, Helen Blond, in getting to the top of a tall building so that they may consummate their beastly relationship! This release also comes with a bonus prequel game “Crazy Kong City”
Finally, there is “Baby Monkey Alba” – On tape for the first time is Javier Quero’s well-received entrant for the 2017 ZXDEV competition, a Game & Watch retro styled quest through the jungle to rescue your Mum
