I’ve been to Philip Oliver’s house – he only lives down the road from me so I see him often. I have yet though to be invited into his attic which I hear is a retro gamer’s haven. Well recently Philip was poking around the boxes up there and only found another unreleased game of theirs, Dreamworld Pogie – one Codemasters never took to market. With some magic and wizardy, the game is now in cartridge form and works on all formats of the NES i.e. UK, Europe and the rest of the world. Philip asked me to launch a Kickstarter to get the game out to as many gamers as possible and that is what I have done.
The campaign has only been running for just over a week and already has blown it’s target of £6K. You can check the campaign out here : https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/47744432/dreamworld-pogie-a-new-old-game-by-the-oliver-twin/ and if you fancy one of these game, boxed like the NES games of old, then please make a pledge.
Here is some imagery of the game, first the front of the box:
And then some screens of the game :
And here is a picture of Philip enjoying playing the game. What I find entertaining is that these guys wrote the game, but as they play it they act as if they have never seen or played the game before and get pretty excited:
The campaign still has 3 weeks to go – so we are thinking of some inventive stretch goals to add at the current time. The Twins book, shown in the picture above, is now available on the Fusion Retro Books store : www.fusionretrobooks.com
